Little Elephant Lathe Cuts

Brand Identity, E-Commerce & Digital Sales Development

Little Elephant Lathe Cuts is an independent record label and record manufacturing company based in Northwest Ohio, specializing in high-fidelity lathe-cut vinyl records. Using a specialized cutting process, the company produces custom records from vinyl blanks, offering independent musicians, labels, and artists an alternative to traditional vinyl manufacturing with more accessible pricing, flexible production quantities, and shorter production runs.

I initially worked with Little Elephant to modernize and refine its brand identity, developing an updated visual direction, logo, and supporting brand elements that better reflected the company's growing capabilities and position within the independent music industry.

A significant part of the engagement involved developing a custom digital quoting and ordering experience to simplify what was otherwise a complicated pricing process. I helped build a system that allowed customers to configure their record orders, select options such as jacket styles and colors, and receive pricing based on production quantities and volume discounts. The underlying system incorporated custom pricing logic and calculations to generate accurate quotes and provide customers with a streamlined path from product configuration to checkout.

As Little Elephant expanded its manufacturing capacity and production volume, the original system eventually evolved into a more automated platform. However, the digital sales infrastructure and pricing framework established during our initial engagement provided an important foundation for that growth, helping move the company from a more manual quoting process toward a scalable online ordering operation.
